Australian Team for 2017 IWF World Junior Championships in Japan
The Australian team has been named to head to the IWF Junior World Championships in 2017. This year it's being held in Tokyo, Japan during the summer season. Athletes will get a chance to explore the much admired Japanese culture as well as get to compete with some of the most promising young lifters in the world.
We must congratulate the following athletes and their coaches on getting selected to represent Australia on the world stage:
Michaela Warwick (53kg weight class) from Queensland coached by Shane Orr
Kiana Elliott (63kg weight class) from South Australia coached by Martin Harlowe
Sabah Chamoun (63k weight class) from New South Wales coached by George Chamoun
Hamish Adam (62kg weight class) from New South Wales coached by Robert Mitchell
Nic Di ‘Fabio (77kg weight class) from Western Australia coached by Michael Pileggi
Ben Ward (85kg weight class) from Queensland coached by Regan Hams
Liam Saxby (85kg weight class) from Queensland coached by Craig Wegert
Edward Maxwell (105kg weight class) from Tasmania coached by Leo Isaac
The team will be managed on the ground in Japan by Robert Mitchell from New South Wales and lead coach overseeing the lifters will be Erin Haff from Western Australia.
